Thinking of re-decorating your bathroom this year but not sure what to do? Bathroom design is essential when it comes to making your bathroom look luxurious and sophisticated but also practical. Be sure to at least have a rough idea of how you are wanting your bathroom to turn out, like what colours, whether you want tiles on every wall etc etc. This way it will make it much easier when it comes to fitting everything. Here are 6 fundamental Do’s and Don’ts when it comes to your new bathroom design:
1. Mirrors
By adding mirrors to your bathroom it will creates more light as when the light hits each mirror the light will travel around your bathroom giving the illusion that the room is much bigger than it perhaps is.
2. Let natural light in
If you have a big window in your bathroom, fantastic! If not, then be sure to keep the area around the window uncluttered and free from obstructing objects that may cause big shadows within your bathroom. Try to open your windows and blinds at least once a day to let fresh air in too.
3. Light colours
Painting at least one of your walls white or a slightly off white colour will make your bathroom appear more spacious and elegant. Or alternatively, have white/slightly off white tiles.
1. Inaccurate measurements
There is nothing worse than buying all your cupboards and sanitary ware to find out that they won’t all fit where you wanted them to so make sure that you measure up correctly to avoid mishaps!
2. Incompatible products
Ask your local handyman or plumber to find out what type of water system you have so that you will order the correct shower. No-one wants low water pressure do they?
3. Forget about accessories
Adding accessories to your bathroom will make it feel more welcoming and create a warmer atmosphere. Small details like candles and vases could help to bring your whole bathroom design together.
