5 ways to make your small bathroom look bigger

We aren’t all blessed in the bathroom department so sometimes you’ve just got to work with what you’ve got. In this case, i have a small bathroom which i am always trying to make appear bigger. It’s annoying when you’re trying to relax in the bath but all you can think about is how trapped you feel. Well here is a few tips on how to make your small bathroom look bigger:

  1. Paint at least one of your walls white
This may seem like a waste of time but if you have a wall or even all your walls in white or just off-white the light will reflect off the walls and around the bathroom to make it feel more spacious.
  2. Big mirrors
Now i know your bathroom is small but if you try to fit a bigger mirror opposite a window it will instantly make your small bathroom appear larger, result!
  3. Bath design
If you are installing a new bathroom suite then this is an idea to keep in mind. Where should your bath go? What size should it be? If you install a bath that takes up too much room in your small bathroom it will in turn make the bathroom look tiny. Be sure to ask an interior designer or your plumber on what they would advise to make your bathroom look bigger.
  4. Open shelves/units
Having big cupboards where you can not see the wall behind is a bad idea. Try to install open shelves so that you can see the wall behind, this will make your bathroom look more spacious.
  5. Let natural light in
This is a good idea for any room but especially bathrooms as lettings light in gives the impression of more openness. Try not to obstruct windows with large objects as this will create shadows and block the light. Keep windows open and blinds up!
